WILLIAMS UCHEMBA: A UNIQUELY MILLENIAL PHILANTHROPIC NOLLYWOOD ACTOR
Williams Uchemba is a born Nigerian actor who was born on October 22nd 1994. He later on grew up and developed sklills that made him a Producer, Model, Entrepreneur, Comedian and Social Media Influencer. He has also invested into real estate development and owns a film production company named Prosthesis Entertainment Limited. Williams obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and O’Level certificate from primary and secondary schools in Abia State. He then earned his International Relations degree at the University of Nigeria (UNN) in Nsukka, Enugu State.
He joined Nollywood as a child actor in 1999 and became one of the most popular child actors in the industry after featuring in the Nollywood record breaker movie titled « The Journey of the Dead », where he starred alongside Olu Jacobs, Ramsey Noah, and Pete Edochie.By the year 2000, he featured in a movie entitled « Oh my Son » which he found himself with some popular Nollywood Legends like ; Patience Ozokwor, Amaechi Muonagor, Clarion Chukwurah, Rita Edochie, Bruno Iwuoha, and more.Williams has featured in over 100 Nollywood movies and his Nollywood future is still very bright and hot.
During the year 2000, he was the face of the television that people could relate with especially as he began acting in the millenial or net generation. For his aspect of comedy, he makes several comedy skits and posts online especially on his Instagram page to entertain his followers and gain more of them. He is one of Nigeria’s top content creators and social media personalities.
Uchemba Williams is an award-winning actor as he has received nominations for numerous awards. Here are some of the awards he has won: Most Promising Actor in Nigeria – « Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award » Best Kid Actor – « Africa Movie Academy Awards » Most Promising Act to Watch – « Best of Nollywood Awards » Best Actor in a Comedy – « City People Entertainment Awards ».
In his Philanthropic side, he started a Challenge Tour in 2017, inorder to encourage people to be involved in charitable acts. The cute thing about this challenge was that he involved Celebrities to do samething. In 2018, he established the Williams Uchemba Foundation. The foundation aspires to transform the lives of over 5 million people in 100,000+ communities across Nigeria. His non-profit organization started with a program aimed at taking 1,000 kids out of the streets and returning them to school. The Williams Uchemba Foundation also endeavors to ensure that parents have the means to keep their children out of the streets in the future. The foundation also built a house for a widow living in an unfinished building in 2021. During the pandemic year (April 2020), he donated cash and food materials to feed over 5,000 people living in slum communities in Lagos State. A very generous act that could be related to the bible when Jesus and his disciples fed over 5000 hungry people (John 6:3-14).
The actor has shown prove of talent from childhood, and also has a big heart with the several humanitarian acts he has accomplished. From his acts, his vision regarding the future of his country will obviously be a « Better place ». Not only does he make people smile on screen, he makes people smile on the streets through his acts.
