KAMENI: 237 MUSIC “BOSS” LADY

“Ebude Kate Kameni” but popularly known as Kameni is a Cameroonian singer, rapper, songwriter and performer born on 9th March 1993 in Bafang, West Region, in Cameroon to a Farmer/Musician father and a Merchant mother. Kameni did her secondary school studies at the Lycée Bilingue Molyko-Buea, and her higher education at the Higher Institute of Management Studies (HIMS) in Buea, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.

She joined the choir at a tender age, due to her love for music. She was in the school choir at her primary & secondary level. Her love for music started when she watched her father play instruments. During her days in college, her vocals began ameliorating especially when she met Cameroonian singer Blaise Bwho became her music coach. During her university days, she met other talented Cameroonian artists like Mr Leo, Daphne, Rhythmz , Ko-C, Rythmz, Gomez,Tzy Panchakjust to name a few.

She took her first step into the world of music at the age of 14 through videos, interpretations and freestyles, which she posted on her Facebook page and on YouTube. She finally became known in 2019 through the video of her freestyle Mashup in which she covers songs from artists such as Locko, Teni and Burna boy. The video had about 30,000 views in a month. She later on signed with Label Mate Gomez and released her first single titled “Boss”, both artists were under “Lionn Production”. She then released a second song titled “Nayo nayo” a song which talks about the everyday life situations that everyone faces. The soundtrack got her a huge fanbase all round the world as the song turned out to be a great success. After these songs, she collaborated with renown music artists like “Minks”, “Locko”, “Awu” and many others.

Kameni won the best female artiste overall 2020 Cameroon at the Balafon Award. This just being one of her awards. As of 2022, Kameni is no longer signed under Lionn Production. She has decided begin her own journey. what is expected is that she should not leave the music industry as she is of great and quality talent.
