MUSING DERICK: AN ICON IN CAMEROON MOVIE PRODUCTION
Bamenda based Musing Derick Tenn, is a multiple award-winning film producer/director/writer and he is also the “knight of the Cameroon Order of Merit” who worked on the first two Cameroonian movies (Therapy – he was Director and The Fisherman’s Dairy – he was Tech Director) to be approved on Netflix. He did his studies at the university of Buea before he embarked on his career journey as a movie director and producer.
Derick is also the founder of “Film Room”, a local movie streaming platform recently launched with over 2000 paying subscribers in under 48 hours.
Derick has a wide network and wields considerable influence in the movie sector of the entertainment industry.
He has directed and produced renown films that got awards, films like Kiss of Death, Tenacity, Ijangg, and (When the Leeves Broke (2022). For over 6 years, he has been getting nominations in the country for his films especially at festivals like “Écrans Noirs Festival” and others.
He is known to take his time and produce the best movies he does not hurry to produce a movie in one of his interviews with “Kamerflow Magazine” regarding the movie “Tenacity”, he said “I don’t want to rush over that film, I can keep like for two years because I want the best of it. I will take my time on it….”. His latest movie “When the Leeves Broke “has received several awards since its release.
The director Musing Derick is one of the raw talents that Cameroon that has contributed a lot and still has a long journey ahead in which wonderful films will be produced that will keep the country’s flag high.
