JIDE KENE : A GROWING CHARISMA IN NOLLYWOOD

Jideofor Kenechukwu Achufusi is a Nigerian actor and model, known professionally as “Swanky JKA”. He is best known for his portrayal in many renowned Nollywood movies.

He began his career by acting in supporting roles in Nollywood movies like; “Poka Messiah”, “Black Rose”, “Pretty Little Thing”, “Ofu Obi” and “A Lonely Lane” amongst others. He made his breakthrough in 2019 by playing as the charismatic “Nnamdi Okeke” in the movie “Living in Bondage: Breaking Free” which earned him a Best Actor nomination and a Trailblazer award, both at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2020.

Following the success he got, he got engaged in several other movies like; “Lionheart”, “Kambii: The Whole 30 Yards”, “Dwindle”, “Bad Boys & Bridesmaid”, “Dice”, “My Oyibo Queen”, and many others. He recently is working on three heavy projects that are to be released by December 2023 and the movies are; “A Tribe Called Judah” which is to be released by December 15th 2023, “Blood Vessel” which is to be released by December 08th 2023, and “Japa” unfortunately, the release date is yet to be announced.

Due to his heavy engagement in the Nollywood industry, he earned several awards like; Best of Nollywood Awards in the category Best Actor in a Leading Role, Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in the category Trailblazer Award, Net Honours in the category Most Popular Actor and many others.

Jide was born on October 17th 1991, in Enugu, Nigeria. He went to Watchman Owned Secondary School in Imo State. Later on, he enrolled at Enugu State University of Science and Technology. He took a degree in Geology and Geography.

Aside from his acting career, way earlier before he went behind the screens, he engaged into modelling. At some point in his life, he contested for Mr Ideal Nigeria, where he finished at position six among the 40 finalists.
