Ebele Okaro Onyiuke is a Nigerian actress who has made a significant impact in the Nollywood industry. Born on 19th January 1964 in London but raised in Enugu state, Nigeria. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar and later pursued a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Lagos. She is known for her versatile acting skills and has appeared in numerous movies and television series.

After graduation from university, Okaro served her National Youth Service at the Nigerian Television Authority, where she made some television appearances. After the Youth Service, she worked with an embassy in Lagos and later on worked in a bank before returning to acting in Nollywood. Ebele Okaro began her acting career in the late 1990s and quickly gained recognition for her talent. She has portrayed a wide range of characters, from strong and bold women to vulnerable and emotional ones. Her ability to bring depth and authenticity to her roles has earned her critical acclaim.

 In 2014, Okaro produced and acted in “Musical Whispers”, a movie that advocates for loving care for children with autism.  It featured other prominent Nigerian actors, such as Chioma Chukukwa and Kalu Ikeagwu. She has become known as the “Mama of Nollywood” and has earned the respect of both fans and colleagues

Throughout her career, Ebele Okaro has received several awards and nominations for her outstanding performances. She won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2017 for her role in the movie “4-1-love” just to name a few of all her awards.

Aside from acting, Ebele Okaro is also involved in advocacy work. She is an ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and uses her platform to raise awareness about reproductive health issues.

Ebele Okaro’s talent, dedication, and contributions to the Nollywood have solidified her status as one of the most respected actresses in Nollywood. Her ability to captivate audiences with her performances continues to make her a sought-after actress in the industry.
