Yvonne Nelson is a Ghanaian actress, model, author, entrepreneur and film producer. She is the youngest out of three siblings of her parents. She began her education at St. Martin De Porres School in Accra and she later on went to Aggrey Memorial Senior High School. She then furthered her education at Zenith University College and Central University and she obtained a degree in Human Resource Management. She had a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy in 2020 at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

She gained prominence in the Ghanaian film industry with her breakthrough role in the movie « Princess Tyra » in 2007. Since then, she has appeared in numerous successful Ghanaian films, earning her a reputation as one of the leading actresses in the country. She got engaged in film production in 2011 and produced “The Price” (2011), “Single and Married” (2012), and “House of Gold” (2013).

Nelson’s acting skills and natural beauty have made her a favourite among audiences. She is known for her ability to portray diverse characters with depth and authenticity. Her performances have garnered critical acclaim and several awards, including the Best Actress Award at the Ghana Movie Awards. Her films won Best Picture at the Ghana Movie Awards and Best Ghanian Movie at the 2013 City People Entertainment Awards.

In addition to her acting career, she founded YN Productions, through which she has produced several successful movies. Her production company has been instrumental in promoting the growth of the Ghanaian film industry. She is also an author a wrote a book(memoir) “I AM NOT YVONNE NELSON” which was launched in June 2023.

Nelson is not only known for her talent but also for her activism and philanthropy. She is actively involved in various charitable causes, particularly those related to education and healthcare. She has used her platform to raise awareness about important social issues and has been recognized for her efforts in making a positive impact on society. She founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2010 due to her various activities, she was honoured by GoWoman Magazine and Printex for her foundation and film career.
