WILFRIED NATHAN DOUALA BACK IN THE MTN ELITE 2024 PLAY-OFFS
Cameroonian footballer accused of age fraud Wilfried Nathan Douala, has been recently reported to be set for the Play-offs games.
Good news for Wilfried Nathan Douala. The Opopo midfielder will indeed play in the play-offs. The young Cameroonian prodigy’s name appears on the list released by FECAFOOT on Monday 18th March 2024. The player, who took part in the African Cup of Nations with the Indomitable Lions, will indeed be taking part in the play-offs scheduled to kick off in Douala on 22nd March 2024.
As a reminder, Wilfried Nathan Douala and 61 other players were singled out by FECAFOOT for double identity. His football club, Victoria United, said it was an error on the part of the governing body. With his return to the lists of players qualified to play in the Play-offs, Nathan Douala has to present proof that he is not the alleged Alexandre Bardelli, who is in fact his brother, according to Valentin Nkwain. His rehabilitation therefore puts an end to the high-profile case of double identity against him.
In a recent press release by FECAFOOT on March 18th 2024, it was indicated that “players whose supporting documents were not admissible, as well as those who did not submit to the justification procedure, have been provisionally suspended from the MTN Elite 2024 Play-offs pending clarification of their situation by the relevant authorities”. With this said, apparently Wilfried Nathan’s documents were justified resulting to him being back in the game.
