“Sex Education » is a British teen sex comedy-drama television series created by Laurie Nunn. The show premiered on Netflix in 2019 and follows the life of Otis Milburn, a socially awkward high school student who teams up with his classmate, Maeve Wiley, to set up an underground sex therapy clinic at their school.
Otis, whose mother is a sex therapist, has absorbed a wealth of knowledge about sex and relationships but struggles with his own personal experiences. With Maeve’s help, he begins to use his knowledge to help his fellow students with their sexual and relationship problems.
Throughout the series, Otis and Maeve navigate their own complicated feelings for each other while dealing with the various issues that arise within the clinic. They encounter a diverse range of characters, each with their own unique struggles and stories, including topics such as sexual orientation, consent, body image, and self-discovery.
The series stars a wonderful cast that includes: Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mimi Keene, and Aimee Lou Wood.
The first series was released on 11 January 2019, the second was on 17 January 2020, and the third on 17 September 2021. The fourth series was announced on 25 September 2021 and finally will be coming out by 21st September 2023.
