Peter Mensah is a Ghanaian-British actor known for his roles in various Hollywood films and television series. He was born on August 27, 1959, in Chiraa, Ghana. He later on relocated to Hertfordshire, England with his parents. He began practising martial arts at the early age of 6.

Mensah began his acting career in the late 1990s and has since appeared in numerous notable projects. His breakthrough role came in the 2006 film “300”, where he portrayed the character of a Persian messenger. This role helped him gain recognition and opened doors for more opportunities in the industry. He went on to appear in other successful films such as “Hidalgo” (2004), “The Incredible Hulk” (2008), “Avatar” (2009), “The Scorpion King: Book of Souls” (2018), “Rise” (2019), “Snake Eyes” (2021), “The Devil Conspiracy” (2022) and will feature in the upcoming 2024 movie “Gladiator 2”.  He has acted in many other movies which have brought him more fame.

In addition to his film work, Mensah has also made appearances in popular television series. He played the role of Oenomaus in the Starz series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” (2010) and its subsequent seasons. His portrayal of the fierce and honourable gladiator earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. He has also had recurring roles in other television shows such as “True Blood” (2012), “Sleepy Hollow” (2015-16), “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” (2018) and others.  He has showcased his versatility as an actor by portraying a wide range of characters across different genres. In 2008, he also featured as a character in a video game know as “Dead Space”.

Outside of his acting career, Mensah is known for his dedication to physical fitness and martial arts. He has trained in various combat styles, including boxing and Capoeira, which have allowed him to perform his own stunts in many of his roles.

Throughout his career, Mensah has been recognized for his talent and contribution to the entertainment industry. He has received nominations for awards such as the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the NAACP Image Awards.
