A 2-YEAR-OLD BABY DIES AFTER A FIRE INCIDENT

On Monday 16th October 2023, it was reported that a little 02-year-old baby girl died after she was hospitalised due to a fire incident that occurred like a month ago. The little girl’s name is Duchess Tchoua. Reports say that due to the fire incident, she had a second-degree burn, and apparently, on social media, news went round that the child was completely disfigured.

This incident happened on Saturday, September 16th 2023. The fire invaded the family house which is located at block 4 of district 1 in Bagangté. The flames extended to the room of Ange Kenya (5 years old girl) and Duchess Tchoua (2 years old girl) the two little children in the house. Sources report that the children were home alone as their parents had gone out.

The children’s mum had gone to her business place where she sells “baked fish” popularly known as “braised fish”. The neighbours finally noticed the fire and they tried their best to put off the fire. After managing to get the two children out of the flames, it is rather unfortunate that one of the children died and the other survived which was the youngest known as Duchess Tchoua but she was between life and death. She had to be rushed at the obstetric and paediatric Gynaecological Hospital in Yaoundé. Unfortunately, the child fought for her life for a while but gave up the ghost on Monday 16th October 2023.
