MUSEUM OF THE BAMOUM KINGS UPCOMING INAUGURATION SET FOR APRIL 13TH 2024

The solemn event of the Museum inauguration, will be held under the patronage of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya, on April 13th 2024.

“His Majesty Sultan Mouhammad Nabil MFORIFOUM MBOMBO NJOYA, King of the Bamoun tribe, has the distinguished honor, on behalf of the Bamoun people, to announce to the national and international community that the inauguration ceremony of the new Museum of the Bamoun Kings will take place on Saturday 13th April 2024 in Foumban”, reads the official press release issued by the Bamoun Sultanate.

The same source gives the background to the building of the Bamoun Kings Museum, which is a symbol of Cameroon’s cultural and intangible heritage.

“The work of building this museum, undertaken by the 19th King of the Bamoun, His Majesty Ibrahim MBOMBO NJOYA, is a contribution by the Bamoun Kingdom to the conservation and safeguarding of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Cameroon and humanity”  reads the press release.
