INDOMITABLE LIONS : PROFILES OF HERVÉ RENARD, CANNAVARRO AND PESEIRO REJECTED AS COACH CANDIDATES

According to a well-informed source, the joint commission responsible for studying applications for the position of coach and head coach of the Indomitable Lions has returned to Yaoundé, Cameroon,  after holding discussions in France with certain technicians whose applications had attracted attention. According to Actu Cameroun, the profiles of Hervé Renard, Fabio Cannavarro and Peseiro were rejected for the position of coach of the Indomitable Lions.

For the moment, it is difficult to know the reasons for these rejections. However, in an interview with the press last week, the Minister of Sport and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, indicated that the name of the new coach of Cameroon’s national team would be known before the end of the FIFA window. The FIFA window opened on March 18th  2024 and closed on Tuesday March 26th 2024.

According to well informed sources, the latest applications received by FECAFOOT or the Ministry of Sport have been forwarded to the committee in charge of rebuilding the Indomitable Lions, which is housed in the Prime Minister’s office.

Cameroonians now await the new boss of the Cameroonian bench.   When approached, Antoine Kombouaré quickly declined the offer. The idea of Antonio Conceicao’s return was quickly abandoned. Raymond Domenech put himself forward as a candidate, but did not receive a favorable opinion.

The question running now in the minds of Cameroonians is who will manage the Indomitable Lions very well as a coach?
