The Cameroonian football national team will soon be on field for their first match against Guinea-Conakry in the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations. The match takes place at the Charles Konan Banny stadium in Yamoussoukro.
The Indomitable Lions honed their skills one last time on Sunday January 14th 2024 in Yamoussoukro. This is before they take the field for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday January 15th at 5pm local time in Ivory Coast, against the Syli National of Guinea-Conakry. According to a statement from the Cameroon national team, the five-time African champions returned to their hotel after a one-hour general training at the INPHB Sud.
In their uniqueness, they burst into a chorus of motivational refrains and rallying songs, visible signs of the serenity and high spirits reigning in the group on the eve of their debut in Yamoussoukro. A few hours earlier, Rigobert Song and Olivier Kemen were in front of the press for their pre-match impressions on Sunday January 14th 2024. Both showed the same determination and commitment in the face of the adversity that awaits them on January 15th.
The Indomitable Lions are due to arrive at the Charles Konan Banny stadium at 3.30pm on the D-day, 90 minutes before kick-off of their match against Guinea, by which time will be 6pm in Cameroon.
The Sunday evening ended with a dinner and a brief ceremony of encouragement and support from the State of Cameroon, in collaboration with the Cameroon Football Federation, for a sacred union around the whole team, to federate and generate positive vibes for a better participation of Cameroon in the AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.
