INDIA GRANTS 190,000 TONNES OF RICE TO CAMEROONIAN IMPORTERS
Cameroonian importers have undertaken to ensure that the 190,000 tonnes of rice allocated to Cameroon by India do not fail to appear on national shelves.
The announcement was made during a meeting recently held at the Ministry of Trade, in the presence of Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana and Cameroonian importers.
At the meeting, the various players discussed the remaining concerns relating to the supply of rice. And in the presence of the Minister of Trade, they pledged to ensure that the 190,000 tonnes of rice allocated to Cameroon by India do not fail to appear on the national shelves.
“Taking the floor in turn, the representatives of the importing companies who have been allocated quotas for this major shipment said that they had taken all the necessary measures to ensure that this stock of rice would be available in the coming weeks, thereby ruling out any risk of shortages or disruptions to supplies on the national market. Importers have also assured us that they have sufficient stocks from other countries, offering an additional guarantee against any supply disruption”, says a press release from the Ministry of Trade.
All the necessary steps have been taken by the government, in conjunction with the facilitating parties, to enable Cameroonian importers to ship the rice stock.
