CHRISTA EKA : A 237 SHORT FILM EXPERT
Christa Eka Assam is a Cameroonian film actress, director and producer. Her work in Cameroon has been critically acclaimed. She taught herself how to act and by 2005, she decided to venture in the field professionally and it opened several doors of opportunities for her. She began as an actress in BREAK-IN, then in 5 feature films and 4 short films. She is the lead actress in the movie “Not My Will” (Wegmuller Ikome, Cameroon, 2010), which happens to be her first fiction feature film.
In 2012, she got selected into Talent Campus Durban after her first short film, “Doormat” (2012), her second short film, “Beleh” (2013), screened in over 20 international film festivals and won two awards. Her third short film is “Alma”, and has featured in other movies like “Swap” and amongst many other movies as well as short films.
Aside her acting career, she is also a model. Her desire to produce quality movies which made turn into writing and directing and she produced several short movies.
Her first movie “Doormat”, was selected at the Durban Talent Campus 2012 (South Africa), her third short film “Alma” won the competition at Écrans Noirs 2015 (Yaoundé).
She has earned several awards still like; Zaafa Awards (2013), Best Short Film at the LFC Awards for the movie “Alma” in 2018.
Christa studied Chartered Accounting and later obtained an ICM Diploma in Marketing, Advertising and PR. She later dropped all those to pursue a career in acting.
Aside her acting career, she is the creator/founder of ACE Entertainment, an entertainment company dedicated to producing quality films and helping other young and emerging artists.
The young actress has made the image of short movies in Cameroon to make sense and has stood on her grounds to keep her origin with a high name and image. Her future projects are waited, for thus far, her work of arts have shown lots of excellence.
