In the Nollywood industry, a lot of people just conclude that all the Nollywood actors and actresses they see on screen are of Nigerian origin but not all are from Nigeria or were born there. In this article, we are going to elaborate and point out 5 Cameroonian Nollywood actors and actresses.

  1. OKAWA SHAZNAY

Okawa is a Nollywood actress with a Cameroonian origin and the first from Cameroon who successfully joined the Nollywood industry with her role in the mind-blowing movie “Lyore” alongside with Rita Dominic. She began her secondary education in Cameroon, later moved to the United States to further her education.  Ever since her movie, she has starred in several movies including playing the Lead Role in the 2016 Tv series “Delilah” as Delilah herself.

Katherine is a Cameroonian-Nigerian actress, on-air personality and Tv presenter born to a Cameroonian father and Nigerian mother. She worked as a television presenter for “Nigerian Television Authority”(NTA) on AM Express and also worked with Nigeria info 99.3FM. She slowly entered into acting and featured in several Nollywood movies and tv series. She acted alongside with actresses like Kate Henshaw and Omoni Oboli in the movie “The Women Alongside”, “Journey to Self”, and the presently popular series “Lekki Wives”. She has won several awards.

Francis is a popular Nollywood actor who was born to Nigerian parents in Cameroon making him automatically a Cameroonian by birth. He was born on July 27th 1969. He is an icon in the Nollywood industry. He began his acting career in 1989 with the movie “Missing Mark” directed by late Ndubuisi Oko. He got really popular in 1994 when he starred in the movie “Rattle Snake” produced by Amaka Igwe. Ever since this movie, Francis has performed in lots of movies.

The actor Epule Jeffrey Ewusi aka Papa K (born 6th November 1983) is a Cameroonian-Nollywood actor who began acting since 2012. He has starred in movies like “Breach of Trust”, “Red Pink Poison”, “Decoded”, and “Royal Destination” featuring “Tontoh Dikeh” and “Emeka Ike”.

Empress is a Nollywood-Cameroonian actress who began acting in 1995 and has been acting for a long while now. She has starred in outstanding movies like “Last Girl Standing”, “Missing Angel”, “She-Devil”, “June”, “Wife Material”, and much more. The said actress was nominated in 2012 for Best-supporting actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards though she lost to Terry Pheto.
