OSAS IGHODARO & TERRENCE J SELECTED HOSTS FOR THE 2023 HEADIES AWARD
To begin with, The Headies originally called the Hip Hop World Awards, is a music awards show that was created in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize magnificent achievements in the Nigerian music industry. This ceremony happens every year ever since 2006 and it features performances by promising and established artists. The ceremony skipped some few years which were 2017 and 2021. It involves nominating different artists for the different categories and voting for them to see the winner and give awards.
For this 16th edition, the Headies Academy decided to select Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro (2nd time hosting as she hosted the event in 2022 with American actor Anthony Anderson) and Hollywood actor Terrence J to host this year’s Headies award which will be returning to Atlanta for the second straight year.
Osas is set to be joined by American actor and TV host Terrence J who has previously hosted popular TV shows “106 & Park” and “E! NEWS”. He also featured in the movie ‘Think Like A Man’ in 2012.
The 2023 Headies is set to award notable feats for the year in review (January 2022 – March 2023) and eyes would be on Burna Boy, Rema, and Asake who tops the nominations list.
The 2023 Headies is leaving Nigeria for the second straight year as it’s scheduled to be held on September 3, 2023, at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta Georgia, USA. Determining from the hosts, this year’s event is going to be very spectacular.
