15-YEAR-OLD GIRL ARRESTED ALONGSIDE TWO ACCOMPLICES FOR BANDITRY
A young 15-year-old girl whose name has been revealed as Esther Shekina has been recently detained at the Kekem police station located in the West region of Cameroon for a theft allegation.
The young girl is accused of stealing a motorcycle alongside two of her accomplices who have been identified as Pokam Max, who is 31 years old and Ndipi Guy who is 32 years old.
The Police Commissioner, Peug Huma Njoya Ibrahim explained to the press saying: “The two men are ex-convicts. The three of them recently threw pepper into the eyes of Dairou Hassan in Bafoussam, and as he struggled, they stole his bike”
The three bike thieves were caught by security forces on their way to Douala at a control post.
During the presentation of the thieves to the public, Esther, the young girl said “Circumstances pushed me to the streets and to join a criminal gang. While at home, my stepmother, gave me no peace.”
The Kekem police commissioner calls of parents to raise their children in love and respect their right to avoid forcing them into the streets.
This case also calls on a revision of public security and also on how safe children are at home and on the streets.
