Noupoue Elvis,  will serve as an assistant referee and is the only Cameroonian on the list of 89 newly appointed match officials. The match officials selected for the Olympic football tournament includes 21 referees, 42 assistant referees, 20 video match officials and six support referees from 45 countries.

“The preparation of match officials will be regularly and closely monitored before and during the Olympic Games by a team of FIFA technical coaches, including referees and video assistant referee (VAR) instructors, as well as match analysts, physical trainers, physiotherapists and sports scientists. FIFA is delighted to announce the appointment of Noupoue Elvis, who will provide the officials with the best possible advice and support”, said FIFA.

The Paris Olympic football tournament is scheduled to kick off on 25th July 2024 for women’s football and on 24th July for men’s football.

Noupoue Elvis brings a wealth of experience to his role as referee, having officiated numerous matches in Cameroon’s top league, the Elite One Championship.

However, he suffered a setback in June 2023 when he was provisionally suspended for serious misconduct during a Cameroon Cup match.

He managed to regain his position and was recently appointed as an official for the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Applause to Noupoue Elvis for representing his nation in high esteem and will obviously raise the flag high.
