Ariel Sheney, whose real name is Sré Ariel Jean Arthur, is an Ivorian singer, songwriter, and producer. He found success as a pianist for Coupé-Décalé superstar and fellow Ivorian DJ Arafat before breaking out his own in the late 2010s.  Employing a unique style that blends Afropop, R&B, Zouglou, Ndombolo, Coupé-Decalé, and other African musical influences.

Sheney was discovered in 2013, by French producer Alain Miambo and signed to his label Miambo Music. His debut single, “Viens Danser”, was released in 2014 and quickly became a hit in France. He continued to build a following with the release of subsequent singles, including “Kylian Mbappé” and “Y’a Quoi”. In 2016, he released his first full-length album, “Mondialisation”. The album was met with critical acclaim and earned him a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2017 Victoires de la Musique Awards.

He has released several tracks but in 2015, Ariel Sheney released his breakout single titled “Amina”, which became a massive hit. The song showcased his energetic and captivating performance style, as well as his ability to create catchy and danceable music. Aside the success of “Amina”, he has released other popular singles such as; “Ghetto”, “Yelelema”, “Sympa”, “À Jamais” and many others.

Ariel Sheney’s music often features lyrics that celebrate life, love and social justice, and the Ivorian culture. His infectious melodies and vibrant performances have endeared him to fans both in Côte d’Ivoire and across Africa. He has collaborated with various artists from the region, further expanding his reach and impact.

Sheney has collaborated with numerous other artists, both in France, and internationally. He has worked with artists such as Magic System, Soprano, Vegedream, Youssoupha, Oumou Sangaré and many others. He has also been featured on songs by French rappers Nekfeu and Niska.

In 2017, he won the New Generation Artist Award at the Coupé-Décalé Awards, which angered DJ Arafat, who felt betrayed by his protégé. These two men got into a conflict which made Sheney leave Yorogang to go pursue his own career.

Aside from his musical endeavours, Ariel Sheney is also known for his flamboyant fashion sense and unique stage presence. He incorporates elements of dance and entertainment into his performances, making him a dynamic and engaging artist to watch.

Sheney was born on July 1, 1990, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. He grew up in a family of music enthusiasts, his father being a pastor and choirmaster. From an early age, he learned how to play several instruments like piano, drums, percussion and guitar. He began his musical career in gospel and jazz, before turning to coupé-décalé.
