ZUBBY MICHAEL: NOLLYWOOD’S GANGSTER ACTOR

Azubuike Michael Egwu but professionally known as “Zubby Michael”, born on February 1^st 1985 in Anambra State, Nigeria. He is a popular Nollywood actor, and movie producer. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Zubby joined the Nigerian movie Industry as a professional actor when he was 8 years old. By the age of 21, he got his breakthrough in the Nigerian movie industry. His first movie appearance was in “Missing Rib” which starred “Ramsey Noah” and “Tonto Dikeh” but he became famous due to his lead role in “The Three Windows” a movie he featured alongside with “Oge Okoye”. He has featured in over 150 movies. He mostly acts in action thriller movies, and known for playing criminal, villain, and hitman roles in movies.

The said actor became a super star after acting in two other Nollywood epic movies; “Princess Rihanna” and “Implication” in which they prompted a nomination for him as “Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the African Magic Viewer’s Choice awards.  He received an award by the year 2010 as the “Most Promising actor” at the African Movie Academy Awards. He has been frequently described as best actor of his generation, and also as one of Nigeria’s most famous actors who know how to interpret his roles in movies very well. His journey in the Nollywood industry has made him famous, with a huge fan base and he is now considered to be one of the most expensive actors in Nollywood and charges nothing less than 900,000 naira per movie.

Zubby’s net worth is claimed to be $9.6 million. He earns his income through his acting career. He is also an influencer who has worked with countless companies in Nigeria. Lastly, Zubby also engaged himself in to a political career in which he earned a good fortune working as the advisor of “Willie Obiano”, the former governor of Anambra State. He was awarded a certificate of recognition for his contribution to the City Radio 89.7 FM youth empowerment initiative in Anambra State.
