There is a wave of panic following another unfortunate incident in Kribi, as a lifeless body was found this Thursday 22nd February morning , on Ngoye beach. This is the second drowning incident to occur in the well-known tourist resort in just a week, raising concerns about beach safety.

This alarming discovery came shortly after another young man tragically drowned on the same beach, sending shockwaves through the town of Kribi. “It’s really unbelievable”, said a distressed beach vendor, her voice trembling.”Two deaths in less than a week… this beach is becoming more and more dangerous”.

Local residents give an overview of the dangerous water conditions, attributing the recent drownings to a variety of factors. Although the water level has fallen compared with previous months, the powerful currents and sudden undertows continue to pose a major danger.

“The sea can be calm one minute and wild the next”, explained one fisherman. explained one fisherman, his weathered face showing signs of concern. Even experienced swimmers can be taken by surprise.

The absence of lifeguards at Ngoye beach is raising concerns.
