Kehinde Bankole is a Nigerian actress and model who has made a significant impact in the Nigerian film industry. she has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal fan base with her exceptional acting skills and striking beauty.

Bankole began her career as a model before transitioning to acting. She participated in various modelling competitions and graced the covers of several notable magazines. Her first entertainment experience was when she auditioned as a contestant in Miss Commonwealth Nigeria pageant in 2003, though she did not win, it gave her the exact exposure needed. She also competed in Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria competition, though she did not win, it aided her to be the new face of Lux in 2007.  Her modelling background provided her with a strong foundation in the entertainment industry and helped launch her acting career.

In 2003, Bankole made her acting debut in the television series “Super Story”. Her performance caught the attention of both audiences and industry professionals, and she quickly gained recognition for her talent and versatility. She went on to appear in numerous popular Nigerian television series, including “Papa Ajasco”, “This Life”, “Desperate Housewives Africa” and many others, showcasing her ability to portray diverse characters with depth and authenticity.

Bankole’s breakthrough in Nollywood came with her role in the critically acclaimed film “The Meeting” in 2012. Her portrayal of the character Kikelomo, a strong-willed and determined woman, earned her widespread praise and established her as a rising star in the industry. Since then, she has appeared in several successful Nollywood movies, including “October 1” (2014), “Grace” (2018), “Bachelor’s Eve” (2018), “The Set Up” (2019), “Blood Sisters” (2022), “Sista” (2022) and “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire” (2023) a recent Disney + series amongst others.

Known for her ability to embody complex characters, Bankole has demonstrated her versatility by taking on a range of roles in different genres, from romantic comedies to dramas. Her performances have earned her several awards and nominations, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, ELOY Awards as the TV Actress of the Year, Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards as Best Actress in a Drama, she won the revelation of the year at 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards, and many others.

Beyond her work in film and television, Bankole has also ventured into Tv hosting as she presently hosts daytime talk shows including “Soul Sisters” and “African Kitchen” which shows her passion for the performing arts.

She was born on March 27, 1985, in Lagos, Nigeria. She is the fourth child out of six children. Apparently, she is a twin and her twin acts as well but not so frequent as her. She completed her primary education at Tunwase Nursery and Primary school, Ikeja, Nigeria. She later studied Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, but did not complete as she took a break to focus on her modelling career.

In addition to her acting career, Bankole is also involved in philanthropic endeavours. She is an advocate for causes such as education and empowerment, particularly for women and children in Nigeria.
