TOYIN ABRAHAM: A NOLLYWOOD COMIC THESPIAN

Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, born Olutoyin Aimakhu on September 5, 1982, is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, director and producer. She was born in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria, but grew up in Ibadan, Oyo State in Western Nigeria. She attended St Anne’s School Ibadan for her Secondary school education. She later on went to Osun State Polytechnic Iree from 2005-2007, where she obtained a Pre-National Diploma and Ordinary National Diploma. She got her Higher National Diploma certificate in Marketing from Ibadan Polytechnic.

 Toyin began her acting career in 2003 when she starred in the movie “Dugbe Dugbe Nbo”, a movie produced by Bukky Wright. She rose to prominence after featuring in the blockbuster movie and ventured in her second which was “Alani Baba Labake” in 2009. She began to feature in other movies until she rose to stardom.

Over the years, Toyin Abraham has become one of the most sought-after actresses in the Nigerian film industry, known as Nollywood. She has featured in numerous successful movies, including “Okafor’s Law”, “The Ghost and the Tout”, “Seven and a Half Dates”, “Elevator Baby”, “king of Thieves”, “The Stranger I Know”, and “The Wild Flower” among others. Her exceptional comic acting skills and ability to portray diverse characters have earned her several awards and nominations.

Apart from acting, Toyin Abraham is also a talented producer and has produced several movies under her production company, Toyin Abraham Productions. Some of the movies she has produced include “Alakada Reloaded,”, “The Ghost and the Tout”, “The Prophetess”, “Fate of Alakada” and many others.  These productions have not only showcased her creative abilities but have also been well-received by audiences.

Toyin Abraham is known for her versatility and ability to deliver both comedic and dramatic performances. She has a unique style of acting that endears her to fans and has gained her a large following on social media platforms. Her vibrant personality and down-to-earth nature have also contributed to her popularity.

Toyin was nominated for and won several top awards, including “AMVCA for Best Actress in a Drama” for a role in a “Elevator Baby”. She was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Yoruba film entitled “Ebimi Ni” during the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards just to name a few of her achievements.

Martini Animashaun the CEO of Tinimash Entertainment created and managed her reality show entitled “KUWTA” (Keeping Up With Toyin Aimakhu) in fact, she came back a better person especially with her exceptional professionalism during the whole saga.

In addition to her successful acting career, Toyin Abraham has put up her business side in which she has a company that produces herbal medicine- Toyin Herbal and it was opened in October 2019.

In 2020, Toyin was made Ambassador for Revolution Plus Properties, a Lagos based property outfit.

Toyin Abraham’s personal life has also been a subject of public interest. She was previously married to actor Adeniyi Johnson, but the marriage ended in divorce. In 2019, she got married to fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, and they welcomed their first son together, Ireoluwa Ajeyemi.
