The movie “Jagun Jagun” is a recent Netflix Yoruba Epic movie that was released on August 10th, 2023. This movie was co-directed by “Adebayo Tijani” and “Tope Adebayo”, and produced by award-winning “Femi Adebayo”. This movie is one of the big trends on social media especially in its country of setting, and it has reached over 17 countries round the world.

This movie tells us about a notorious warlord- “Ogundiji” (Character played by Femi Adebayo producer himself) who reigns supreme and has a number of warriors at his beck and call. Ogundiji is well-versed in the ways of war and his skills are unmatchable. That is, until a Young Warrior (Gbotija) threatens his reign and desires a very beautiful young woman in the village- “Kitan”, Character played by “Bukunmi Oluwashina”. The movie contains glory action scenes of war and the commotion a village faces. It has a similar action and cinematography to Femi Adebayo’s own hit movie- “King of Thieves”. Although it is not an official continuation, viewers might find several similarities in themes and visuals between “Jagun Jagun”: The Warrior and “King of Thieves”.

The movie features actors such as; Femi Adebayo himself, Lateef AdedimejiAdebayo SalamiIbrahim YekiniBukunmi Oluwasina, Mr Macaroni, Bimbo Ademoye, Odunlade Adekola, Fathia Balogun and it hosted other actors and actresses.

The movie has gotten several praises all over social media within a short while and rumours are already spreading that the movie will have a second part due to the fact that after the warlord died (Ogundiji), his son will resurface to seek his revenge. The future is not so far, all this is left for “Femi Adebayo” to sit and think over if the film is worth a second part because only the first part of the movie has left people glued to their screens.
