YAOUNDE : YOUNG LADY BEATEN TO DEATH

On the streets of Yaoundé, another lady dies due to abuse by her partner. This case happened in a quarter called Ekounou, which  is a neighbourhood in the Yaoundé IV district of the Yaoundé urban community. It lies to the east of the capital Yaoundé. This incident involves a 26-year-old woman who  died after being beaten by her partner.

The victim’s name was revealed as Cécile Sylviane NGA OWONA, a 26 year old woman who recently  died this weekend  at Efoulan district hospital as a result of internal bleeding. According to several sources, she was severely beaten several times by her partner on Friday January 12th  2024.

Cécile Sylviane NGA OWONA’s family has lodged a complaint with the 14th District police station in Yaoundé, alleging that their daughter was murdered. An investigation has been opened to investigate the matter.

Cécilia, as she was mostly known, has just left a great void, particularly in her mother’s home, where she was an only child.

Sources just learned that her companion, disclosed as Kwibeth Declan Bati, disappeared after her death. His whereabouts are not yet known.

Cécile Sylviane NGA OWONA’s family awaits the results gotten from the police’s investigation. They are pained as their only daughter will die just because of physical abuse.

With r records of the past years especially 2023, it has been noticed that many women have been either hospitalised or lost lives due to their partners beating them or vice versa though it’s more heavy on the women. Something needs to be done on this violent act to bring back peace to homes and save the lives of people.
