KIZZ DANIEL : A PILLAR OF AFROBEAT/R&B

Kizz Daniel, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer. He gained popularity in the Nigerian music industry with his unique musical style, captivating vocals, and catchy melodies.

As a child, Kizz Daniel showed a keen interest in music and started singing and writing songs at a young age. He began his journey into the music industry by participating in local talent shows and competitions. In 2013, he signed a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment Label.

In 2014, Kizz Daniel released his breakthrough single titled “Woju”, which became an instant hit and garnered significant attention across Nigeria. The song’s success led to the release of a remix featuring Tiwa Savage and Davido, further boosting his popularity. He followed up with other successful singles like “Laye” and “Good Times”.

In 2016, Kizz Daniel released his debut studio album, titled “New Era”. The album received critical acclaim and was a commercial success. It featured hit tracks such as “Mama”, “Jombo”, and “Duro”.  The album’s success earned him several awards and nominations, including the Headies Award for Best R&B/Pop Album.

In 2018, Kizz Daniel released his second studio album, titled “No Bad Songz” The album showcased his versatility as an artist and featured collaborations with both Nigerian and international artists. Songs like “One Ticket” featuring Davido and “Madu” became major hits, further solidifying his position as one of Nigeria’s top music acts.

He has released several other singles like; “Buga”, “Poko”, “No Do”, “Cough (Odo)”, “Shu Peru” and many others. He has released several other albums like; “New Era”, “No Bad Songz”, “King of Love”, “Bamabas”, “Maverick” amongst others.

Kizz Daniel finally left G-Worldwide Entertainment and floated his own personal imprint FLYBOY I.N.C. which has signed several artists.

For the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, he performed his single “Buga” at the event. He has expressed his desire to perform at the FIFA World Cup.

Kizz Daniel is known for his ability to fuse different genres, including Afrobeat, R&B, and pop, into his music. His songs often convey romantic themes, love, and social commentary. He is also recognized for his distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence, which has earned him a large and dedicated fan base.

Throughout his career, Kizz Daniel has received numerous awards and accolades, including multiple Headies Awards, City People Music Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, Soundcity MVP Awards and many others. His contribution to the Nigerian music industry has made him one of the most influential and successful artists of his generation.

Daniel was born on May 1^st 1994, in Abeaokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He attended Abeokuta Grammar School and graduated from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeaokuta, in 2013 with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering).

Kizz Daniel continues to be one of the strong pillars of Naija music and continues to release new music, collaborate with other artists, and perform at concerts and music festivals both in Nigeria and internationally.
