LION’S GOALKEEPER ANDRÉ ONANA JOINS HIS TEAM IN IVORY COAST FOR VICTORY

Andre Onana recently arrived Abidjan on Monday January 15^th at 10a.m and will soon be in Yamoussoukro to join his team. The Manchester United goalkeeper will be joining the Indomitable Lions few hours before Cameroon’s debut at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Having remained with his club since the start of the Indomitable Lions’ training camp, André Onana left Manchester on Sunday January 14^th night after the Red Devils’ Premier League match with Tottenham. The 27-year-old goalkeeper boarded a private jet to fly to the Cameroon team’s base camp in Yamoussoukro.

His late arrival has caused a huge stir on social networks. At a press conference on Sunday 14^th January, Coach of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song was asked about the situation of his first-choice goalkeeper. According to the coach, André Onana has the necessary experience to handle this kind of situation.

Unfortunately, celebrity goalkeeper will likely not play at the goal post for the first kick-off match for Cameroon.

Cameroon will be playing against Guinea’s Syli National this Monday 15^th January at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro. Fabrice Ondoa, winner of the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, will be the goalkeeper for the nation’s first match.
